Formed by Mother Earth: Obsidian is an igneous rock occurring as a natural glass formed by the rapid cooling of viscous lava from volcanoes. Though obsidian is typically jet-black in color, the presence of hematite produces red and brown varieties, and the inclusion of tiny gas bubbles may create a golden sheen. Other types with dark bands or mottling in gray, green, or yellow are also known.
Spiritual Association: Known for its strength and association with our Root Chakra, obsidian is a great protection stone and is naturally formed by the cooling of molten lava.
About this piece: This necklace features a wire wrapped Obsidian point hanging off a silver chain. The silver wire wraps around the top of the point to contrast the stone's intense black color.
